Our scientists and experts venture into some of the world’s most remote biodiversity hotspots, cataloging plants and wildlife to build a living database of nearly 200,000 records, including newly describes species, that fuels research, education, and habitat protection. In the Sky Island mountain ranges of the Madrean Archipelago, the rarely seen Rock Horned Lizard had vanished from scientific record for 73 years. When our scholarship student photographed 11 individuals, it sparked an expedition where the lizards were tracked, measured, and studied. By exploring the unknown, we’re not just observing nature, we’re safeguarding it for generations to come.
